Nicola Pennill BSc (Hons) DipABRSM LRSM CTABRSM DipMus(OU)
Nicola balances a busy teaching diary with regular performances. As an ensemble player she plays with a number of groups. She is a founder member of the Equinox Saxophone Ensemble, and is a longstanding member and currently chairman of the award winning Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra. As a principal player with the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain, she performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2005. She is part of the organising committee bringing the world's leading saxophonists to Britain in 2012 for the World Saxophone Congress. In 2009 she released her first solo album, a personal collection of chamber pieces for saxophone. She enjoys arranging for saxophone ensemble and has recently had her first set of arrangements published.
As well as her private teaching Nicola has worked with the Nottingham Wind Ensemble, Nottingham Choral Trust's 'Bandwise' programme. She has also been instrumental in developing and running the popular Nottingham SaxDay, now in its sixth year, which attracts saxophone players from across the country.
As well as music, Nicola enjoys painting, and has a strong following for her landscape paintings which are in private collections throughout Europe.
