Concert ‘Dream with Me’ by Nicola Pennill
The Carriage Hall at Plumtree provided the stylish venue for the launch of a unique recording for saxophone, piano and electronics. Nicola Pennill’s new solo album includes transcriptions from works by John Adams, Leonard Bernstein and Benjamin Britten, as well as original works from Richard Ingham and Bill Connor. Much of the material is presented in versions or arrangements which are previously unrecorded. The concert presentation at the launch event featured a number of tracks from the CD, alongside standard repertoire works for saxophone. Accompanied by fellow musicians Alistair Parnell (piano, EWI, sax) and Michelle Phillips (sax and EWI) the evening provided a diverse programme of music showing the versatility of the saxophone voice.
