Now in its fourth year, Nottingham Sax Day 2008 continues to be a major event in the saxophonists calendar, attracting players from across the region and beyond.
The day will not only provide opportunities for masterclass and ensemble sessions for participants, but will also be open to observers. If you would like to work on your performance and ensemble skills, or to hear new repertoire, then this is a great opportunity to benefit from the experience of leading players and teachers.
The Djanogly Arts Centre at Nottingham University is home to the University’s music department, and has excellent facilities including the superb Djanogly Recital Hall, which boasts an acclaimed acoustic and has often been used by the BBC for recording and broadcast purposes. The day starts with registraion at 9.30 am, with sessions through until 5.30 pm. There will then be a (free!) evening concert from 6.30 pm – 8 pm. This is a unique event, which will be of interest to sax players of a wide range of aspirations and abilities, to either watch or learn from others or to work on performance skills.
